Assembly

Our Approach to Daily Assembly Time

At Castlethorpe First School, assembly is a special and valued part of our daily life, bringing the whole school community together in a spirit of reflection, celebration and shared learning. In line with statutory requirements, children come together daily, ensuring regular opportunities to reflect and grow within a shared community.

Children explore important themes such as kindness, respect, courage and responsibility, helping to develop their understanding of our core values and how these can be lived out both in school and beyond.

Our assemblies are engaging and varied, often including storytelling, music, pupil participation and moments for quiet reflection. We take pride in celebrating the achievements of our children, whether in their learning, their attitudes or their contributions and achievements outside of school, ensuring every child feels recognised and valued.

Assemblies also provide opportunities to develop pupils’ understanding of different cultures, beliefs and the wider world, promoting respect and inclusivity within our school community. Visitors, including members of the local community, enrich our assemblies, strengthening our sense of belonging and connection.

Assemblies at Castlethorpe are more than a gathering—they are a time to inspire, to celebrate success and to nurture thoughtful, caring individuals who are ready to make a positive difference in the world.
